Back at it training at Ripped

After not really being able to train at the Golds in Scottsdale ( what a joke that place was ), I was glad to be back home and training at Ripped again.

Max effort concentric goodmorning with safety squat bar ( bar weighs about 55 pounds )

bar x 10
145 x 8
235 x 5
255 x 4
285 x 3
295 x 2 (PR for reps)
325 x 1 (PR)
325 x 1 (probably should have tried for another PR)

I should probably clarify, I really think I should call these concentric goodmorning-squats.  I do them starting with my knees bent, kind of similar to how I start a deadlift.  I view them as a deadlift builder ( and they have been ), but not having to hold the weight with my arms ( which were still kind of stressed from deadlifting at the meet ).  However, this is exactly how the guys in the westside barbell DVD's do them too.  I really love the SSB, I think it really builds your core and I need to use it more often ( as should everybody ).

Box squats with SSB, box above parallel maybe by an inch or two
bar x 8
145 x 7
235 x 5
255 x 5
295 x 3
295 x 3
325 x 3
325 x 2

Leg curl machine, probably 4 sets don't really remember the weight

Body weight was 315 after the workout.

It was a good workout.  CJ, Russ and Kevin were there.  I'm thankful to have people to squat ( kind of ) with.  ( the kind of part is because unfortunately I'm never going to be able to squat with other guys because I need to have the bar up so high in the rack.  It sure would be nice if Ripped got a monolift, and Monday night turned into the squat equilivent of Saturday morning. )
